Tiki Kon Cancellation Update

With the heaviest of hearts we are forced to call off Tiki Kon: Eye of the Tiki due to the ongoing global pandemic. We have decided not to reschedule later in 2020 in the midst of such risk and uncertainty. We want to spread aloha, not viruses. On behalf of the high-risk members of our ohana, we ask that you stay home and avoid large public gatherings until a vaccine is available or herd immunity is achieved.

Thankfully, we were able to cancel this year’s festivities before investing significant funds, and the future is bright. We will return bigger and better than ever in 2021. The dates for next year are July 2-4, at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Lloyd Center, Portland.

The Tiki Kon refund policy is simple:

  • If you already purchased weekend passes, you may choose to request a refund, or keep them for 2021. Keeping them will lock in your pass level and price, and it’s the single best way you can help support Tiki Kon right now. We will email instructions on how to request a refund or keep your passes and mugs. If you do not respond, we will assume you want to keep your passes and pick up your mugs next year.
  • If you pre-ordered the Eye of the Tiki mug by VanTiki or the limited edition enamel pin, you may choose to have your items shipped or pick them up at Tiki Kon headquarters in Portland, or you may pick them up next year at the event. Pre-orders for glassware, posters, and yearbooks will be canceled and refunded.

Once we have the mugs in hand, we will send shipping/pickup info. Production might be delayed a bit due to social distancing and supply chain issues, but we are still hoping to take delivery by July.
  • As always, we offer no-questions-asked refunds on passes and merchandise until 1 week before Tiki Kon, and that’s now extended to June 25, 2021. That means you can keep your passes without risk and request a refund if your plans change.
  • Hotel reservation made with the Tiki Kon rate code will be automatically cancelled. If you do not receive a cancellation confirmation from the DoubleTree, please contact them directly to confirm: (503) 281-6111. If you keep your passes, you will need to make new reservations next year. Rooms will be released on March 15, 2021.

All ticket sales have been closed and will resume next March. At this point, the Super Weekend Passes are sold out. There are a handful of Deluxe passes left, and many standard passes. We will continue to honor the Super Weekend Pass waiting list and will continue to offer those passes as they become available.

Thank you for your patience and understanding

Tiki Kon is a labor of love, and we’re just a couple of guys doing this from our kitchen table, in addition to full time jobs. All refund requests have to be processed manually, so please bear with us. This is a completely unexpected and unprecedented situation, and we’re now in uncharted waters, making it up as we go and doing the very best we can.

You are ohana, and we are committed to treating you the way we would want to be treated, with clear answers and the highest levels of professionalism and customer service. We’re very grateful for your love and support over the years and are very much looking forward to giving you an amazing show next year.
