It may seem like an awkward time to be talking about the triumphant return of Tiki Kon, with the the Omicron variant spreading like wildfire, but we're confident conditions will be improve by this summer and that the indoor mask mandate will be dropped in Oregon by then. We're so confident, we're moving full steam ahead with Tiki Kon: Rim of Fire and hope you can join us!
Tiki Kon is ON!
As you may have heard, Tiki Kon is July 1-3, 2022, at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Lloyd Center, Portland. It's been a trying couple of years as we've struggled to stay afloat and keep our spirits up. Please bear with us...we're a little rusty after two years off, and it's taking a little longer to get things pulled together, and there's still a lot of uncertainty about our performer and presenter lineup.
Our website has been updated with all the information for 2022 that we have at the moment. If you're looking for event info, that's the first place to look. Bear in mind we're still working on the event schedule, performers, presenters, artwork, merchandise, and everything else it takes to pull off a great show. If you don't see what you're looking for, stay tuned. We'll post it as soon as we can.
How to Attend
There's 3 main steps to attending Tiki Kon:
- Buy a weekend pass
- Book a room at the DoubleTree
- Make travel arrangements
Unlike some other tiki weekenders, we don't resell or bundle hotel rooms. We let the hotel handle reservations and always try to negotiate a price that's better than the prevailing rate. All rooming questions and issues need to be handled directly with the DoubleTree.
Weekend passes go on sale March 15, at 6:00 PM Pacific. When the day arrives, you'll find a link on our Tickets page. Hotel rooms are also available starting March 15. The booking link and rate code will be available on our Hotel page.
We're confident the latest COVID wave will crest and subside long before Tiki Kon, and optimistic that Oregon's indoor mask mandate will no longer be in effect, but we can't make any promises. A vaccination/testing requirement is a last resort, but we can't rule it out yet. If we do decide a mandate is necessary, or our the Pacific Northwest tiki community demands it, we won't hesitate to vigorously enforce that decision. We know that our real ohana will respect and support us. We hope to have a final decision by the end of April, before airfare rates go up too much.
Regardless of any state or local mandates or requirements, we strongly encourage everyone attending an event like this to be fully vaccinated and boosted. We prefer that unvaccinated guests don't attend for their own safety and to prevent any more spread in our community.
If this doesn't sit well with you, we offer no-questions-asked refunds until midnight on June 23, 2022. After that date, all weekend passes and add-on tickets are non-refundable, non-transferrable, and not valid for any future dates. Hotel rooms must be cancelled by the guest in accordance with the hotel's cancellation policies. Choose wisely.

Still holding a 2020 weekend pass?
Your pass is still valid, and we thank you for hanging in there! You will need to reconfirm your intent to attend, and agree to our updated terms and conditions and code of conduct. We will be reaching out to all current pass holders in mid-February with further instructions.
Volunteering at Tiki Kon
Tiki Kon wouldn't be possible without the generosity and dedication of our volunteers. It's a fun way to see Tiki Kon from a new angle and make new friends. Volunteers can earn event admission, discounts on merchandise, and invitations to the big post-event cast party, depending on number of hours contributed.
