Sample Volunteer Positions

We use an online scheduling app for volunteer shifts and signups. If you're interested in volunteering, we'll let you know when the app is ready and shifts can be selected. Preference is given to previous year volunteers and local members of our tiki ohana.

Check-In Desk Staff

Check in attendees and provide wristbands, passports, and information. Opening and closing shifts assist the Shift Lead and/or Registration Coordinator with retrieving registration materials from secure storage and setting up the Check-In desk, and with closing the desk and storing registration materials at the end of the day. Requires use of a mobile device with the Eventbrite Organizer app to check in guests. Shifts available Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

Help Desk Staff

Assist guests with registration issues, answer general questions about the event and schedule, provide guidance and assistance with the event mobile app, and perform other tasks that might otherwise slow down guest check-in. Requires some training and preparation, and use of a mobile device. Shifts available Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

Gift Shop Staff & Merchandise Will Call

Assist guests with merchandise purchases and provide pre-ordered merchandise on a will call basis. Requires use of the gift shop's Square terminal for processing sales. Shifts available Friday, Saturday.

Usher/Door Staff

Greet guests and check wristbands at the door of the show room, symposium room, Sunday bar tour brunch, and Sunday finale party. Shifts available Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

Art Show Staff

Oversee the Tiki Kon group art show, guard against theft or damage, and assist buyers with purchases of art works. Requires use of mobile device and Square reader.

Crew

General assistance with load in/out, decor setup, symposium setup, etc. This is a behind the scenes position that does not require direct contact with the public. Shifts available Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
