Blair Reynolds (BG Reynolds) and Brandon Kleyla (Trader Sam's) walk through the history and development of Trader Sam's. Featuring never before seen photos, stories only the "father of Trader Sam's" could tell, and how to develop and display your own story to bring to your home tiki bar to life.

Our Man in Havana: A Visual Tour of the City's Faded Charms, with Sven Kirsten
Sven was lucky enough to spend altogether two months in Havana, first to photograph for Pete Moruzzi’s Havana Before Castro book in 2007, then in 2015 to film a German TV movie. It is heaven for any urban archeologist, offering a plethora of untouched, patina-covered examples of mid-century modern and tropical art deco architecture, all surrounded by vintage American cars. He could fill three lectures with his photos—join him to see the best!

Pop/CounterPop: Tiki Hits Today's Pop Culture, panel discussion
Join panelists Brandon Giraldez (GeekiTikis), Sven Kirsten (Tiki Modern), Brandon Kleyla (Trader Sam's) and moderator Blair Reynolds (BG Reynolds) in a lively and in-depth discussion on the rise of tiki culture in the modern era, the merge tiki culture and particularly tiki mugs into today's pop culture and media, and the importance of today's torch bearers as tiki moves mainstream.

Saturday Night Gala Show, featuring MELAO DE CUBA
Our big show features traditional Cuban orchestra Melao de Cuba (Portland), with The Tikigraphs (Seattle), in an evening of Tiki exotica, salsa-inspired beats and Afro-Cuban rhythms, dance performances by The Starella Sisters, music by DJ Switched on Audrey, cocktails, dancing, fashion, prizes and more! Select vendors will remain open in our lounge throughout the evening.

Sunday Brunch and Bar Deluxe Tour, presented by Plantation Rum and Burnt Bridge Cellars - SOLD OUT
Join us for a hearty brunch and an all-day Tiki tour of some of Portland's best home and commercial bars. Shhhh...the locations are a secret! Included with VIP Weekend Pass only.
NOTE: The Alibi tiki lounge in N Portland, and Hale Pele in NE Portland, will both be closed to accommodate our bar tour. The Alibi will re-open at 12:00 noon, and Hale Pele will reopen at 5:00 pm.
Recess
For guests not on the Sunday bar tour, this is a great opportunity to relax by the pool, enjoy some tax-free shopping and dining at the nearby Jantzen Beach Center, or get out and explore Portland, before joining us for the finale farewell party. The Red Lion provides complimentary shuttle service to the nearby light rail station. Please contact the hotel front desk for details.
