The best tiki bar in America. But we probably don't need to tell you that. Hale Pele will be closed for Tiki Kon events on Thursday, July 4, and opening late on Sunday, July 7. Just a 23 minute walk from the DoubleTree.

Opened in 1947, the Alibi is one of the oldest surviving original tiki bars in the country. It's wonderful and divey and large, with a solid food and drinks program and an excellent brunch. Karaoke in the back dining room after 9pm and for weekend brunch, but you can barely hear it at the front bar. Just a 25 minute ride on MAX light rail, or 8 minutes by car.

Their award-winning wines are the perfect intersection of quality and value. Visit the tasting room for a flight or a glass, and sign up for their wine club. Located right across the Columbia River in Vancouver, WA, Tommy O's is our favorite authentic Hawaiian restaurant in the Portland/Vancouver area, with the best happy hour and brunch. The aloha is strong here, and so is the food! 15 minutes by car from the DoubleTree, depending on traffic conditions. Aloha hours: 3-6pm daily, Fri/Sat 9pm to last call.
Not so much a tiki spot, but still some of the best rum based cocktails in the city, with a chill vibe. 20 minute walk from the DoubleTree.
Old-school steakhouse offers hearty prime rib carved tableside, cocktails & comfy red-velvet booths. The lounge is a dark mid-century treat, with nightly live jazz. 10 minutes by car from the DoubleTree.
